Brain Injury Support Group

Breast Cancer Support Group
This program helps women with breast cancer develop coping strategies. The goal of the group is to provide support to each individual, recognizing the personal, emotional and spiritual needs that are unique to women. This support group meets on the second Saturday of each month from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Telehealth Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Memorial Health Center, 2116 West Faidley.
Young Women's Breast Cancer Support Group
This support group is for young women diagnosed with breast cancer. Participants receive support and encouragement by sharing experiences and receiving information common to younger women.ÂÂÂ This group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Conference Room 4, CHI Health St. Francis, 2620 West Faidley.
Cansurmount Support Group
The Cansurmount Program is sponsored by the American Cancer Society with the cooperation of CHI Health St. Francis. It is a support group designed to help individuals with cancer and their families learn to live each day with hope and gain strength to look toward the future. The Cansurmount program meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Telehealth Conference Room, 2nd Floor of the Memorial Health Center, 2116 West Faidley.
Diabetes Support Group
A support group designed for people living with diabetes and their families. Meets every other month at CHI Health St. Francis. Please call (308) 384-4600 for dates and times.
Eat at Mom's
Finding good support while you are breastfeeding is often the key to a successful experience. You can find that support at "Eat At Mom's," a group that meets every Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon at Hy-Vee, 115 Wilmar Ave., in Grand Island. You may attend anytime for mother-to-mother support. There is also a registered nurse at the meetings to help you or answer and breastfeeding questions you may have.
Fibromyalgia Support Group
A support group for people who have fibromyalgia, their friends and families will meet the fourth Monday of every month at 7 p.m., St. Mary's Cathedral Square, 402 W. Division (use East door of new building), Grand Island. For information, contact Jean Parachini at (308) 946-3433.
From Surviving to Thriving
This is a support group designed to help those dealing with life after completing cancer treatment. Surviving cancer is a life experience that needs to be shared and understood. From Surviving to Thriving is designed to provide cancer survivors with opportunities for increased support and education. Those attending will also learn about the resources available to improve quality of life. All cancer survivors are encouraged to attend this support group. From Surviving to Thriving meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Telehealth Conference Room, 2nd Floor of the Memorial Health Center, 2116 West Faidley.
Look Good, Feel Better
Look Good, Feel Better is a program to help those with cancer learn how to handle the personal appearance changes that may result from chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Those joining the group begin by describing themselves and the cosmetic or beauty products usually used by filling out a form given to them by their nurse or the Cancer Rehab Coordinator. This group is a public service program developed by the American Cancer Society and the National Cosmetology Association. This support group meets monthly in Conference Room A, lower level of the Memorial Health Center, 2116 West Faidley Ave.
A luncheon offering men an opportunity to share the trials and triumphs of life after experiencing the death of a loved one. The meeting, sponsored by CHI Health St. Francis' Hospice Department, will be held the third Thursday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at Tommy's Restaurant, 1325 South Locust Street, Grand Island. Metastatic Breast Cancer Support Group
This support group is for women diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Participants receive education and support from staff and each other related to experiences unique to them. This group meets the third Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Telehealth Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Memorial Health Center, 2116 West Faidley.
Multiple Myeloma Support Group
This support group is for those diagnosed with multiple myeloma. This group provides support, education and caring for those diagnosed and their family members. Group members meet the third Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the basement of Home Federal Bank, 3311 W. Stolley Park Road, in Grand Island. Next Step Grief Support Group
This ongoing group offers the bereaved person an opportunity to share with other people who have experienced the death of a loved one and receive support. The meetings will take place the second Tuesday of every month from 5:30-7 p.m. at CHI Health St. Francis, 2116 W. Faidley Ave., Grand Island, in Conference Rooms B. There is no cost to attend. The St. Francis Cancer Treatment Center offers educational programming, broadcast via telehealth. These educational offerings focus on patient specific topics.
